Ballybofey Big Birthday Bash

It’s 400 years since a charter first set up a market in the historic town of Ballybofey. To mark this amazing anniversary, Ballybofey is proudly celebrating with a range of cultural and heritage events, including: a Hiring Fair re-enactment; a mini-train ride courtesy of the Donegal Railway Heritage museum; vintage vehicle shows; an Irish coffee competition; street dance performances; a children's tractor run, and much much more.

Traditional Boats of Ireland – The Dónal Mac Polin Collection

The exhibition will explore the social, economic and political historical legacy of the Decade of Centenaries and its aftermath, in particular the War of Independence, the Civil War and Partition. It will be the culmination of a series of workshops held with heritage/community groups during which they will be encouraged to share their stories and collect any related heritage materials (artefacts, archives, images) for the exhibition in the County Museum.

A relaxed event in The Reading Room at Harvey’s Point Hotel showcasing some of the highlights of this summer’s Mountcharles Opera Festival. A selection of opera, classical and jazz standards performed by The Bluestack Chorale with soloists Deborah Cunningham, Paul Martin and accompanist Evan McGarrigle.

This guided walk is organised by the Rosnowlagh Ramblers. The meeting and departure point is at the Main Car Park in Rossnowlagh. The walk will be followed by refreshments at the Sandhouse Hotel, Rossnowlagh. This is a free event.
