Live the Journey: Working and Living in Donegal

This Working and Living in Donegal event takes place in two parts. In the morning, the focus is on career and employment opportunities,and talking to potential employers and agencies. In the afternoon, you can hear from and talk to experts about the practicalities of moving home or relocating to Donegal.
Donegal Connections: Network with Employers and Education Providers
– 10.30am to 1pm
Come along to this special careers and employment event, to find out about the opportunities in Donegal. Find out about job opportunities,education, training, apprenticeship and career development. Talk one-to-one to businesses who are recruiting or plan to recruit and agencies who can offer careers advice. They will all have staff on hand to take your enquiries and they include:
- Donegal Local Enterprise Office
- Donegal Education and Training Board
- Letterkenny Chamber
Sit in on a panel discussion to hear from people who have already made the move to Donegal. This will include those who came for education, to work for a large multi-national or to start their own business.

Relocating to Donegal Information Workshop – 2pm to 4pm
This will be a practical information event, designed to tackle key questions you may have about moving back home or relocating to Donegal. Issues which may be raised include residency for spouses/partners, buying a home in Donegal, getting a driving licence, health care entitlements and many more.
You will hear from a CIC (Citizens Information Centre) expert who deals with these kinds of enquiries all the time. Find out about their new information portal, which makes it easier to find the answer to your questions.
You will also hear from two people who have successfully made the move and will talk about the challenges they faced and how they overcame them.
In the second hour of this event, you can make one-to-one enquiries with a range of experts on areas such as:
- Planning and habitual residency
- Drivers licences
- Tax Office/PPS
- Health Insurance
