Background to This Event
This event is being organised by the Donegal ICT/FinTech Group. The group was established in 2018 following the publication of a skills report by the North West Regional Skills Forum Manager. The skills report identified the potential of the ICT/FinTech sector in the North West but also warned against challenges in relation to recruitment in the coming years. A working group comprised of Donegal ICT/FinTech employers, Donegal ETB, LYIT, and the Regional Skills Forum was established. The overall objective of the group is to promote working and studying in ICT/FinTech in Donegal. The group engages with the various stakeholders in post-primary education including teachers, students, parents, Principals and Guidance Counsellors. In addition, the group collaborates with new programme development, changes to existing programmes, guest lectures, study trips, training for existing employees and research.
