The Monreagh Ulster Scots Heritage and Education Centre are hosting this event for anyone who is interested in local or family history. Published authors specialising in history and immigration will share their knowledge. These include internationally renowned genealogist, Brian Mitchell – author of ‘A New Genealogical Atlas of Ireland’.
Guests will have an opportunity to discover the many connections that Donegal and the Foyle Valley has across the world and the many famous people who have an association with the area. The day will include music, song, dance, poetry, and drama.
For those who want to know more about the industrial heritage of Donegal, local flax man, Colm Clarke, will demonstrate the process of producing linen by hand. Boyd Gray will reveal the difference between Irish and Scotch Whiskey and invite guests to share a wee tipple – purely for educational purposes!
